West & East LLC is a small, owner-led import and export company. Our focus is boats and marine equipment. We are based in California with a second office in Tripoli, Libya.
West & East LLC was founded in 2017. We do one thing well: we move marine equipment, vehicles, and machinery between the United States and the Mediterranean. Most of our work goes to Libya. Our second office is in Tripoli.
Our work is hands-on. The owner is an engineer. We read the specifications. We speak with the supplier. We handle every document. We make sure the goods clear customs on the other side.
Our company is small by choice. We only take projects we can manage ourselves from start to finish. If a project is not a good fit for us, we will tell you.
Three services covering the operational side of a shipment. Most projects use more than one. For example, a marine equipment order usually needs sourcing, ocean shipping, and customs clearance. We handle all of them. One team. One price.
Some work doesn't fit inside a container. It requires knowing the people, the terms, and the terrain — that's where thirty years of relationships across the Libya–USA corridor come in.
Import agreements, distribution rights, service contracts, government tenders. We help clients read what they're signing, negotiate the terms that matter, and understand what each clause will cost them in practice.
You've been handed a contract in North Africa you don't fully understand, or you're structuring a new deal with a counterparty in the region.
Three decades across marine, construction, energy, and trade. Our principal knows the specific people in ministries, port authorities, and national oil companies who actually have the authority to move a project forward.
You need the decision-maker in the room. Not a general contact — the one who can actually say yes.
Some opportunities look impossible from the outside — a market you can't enter, a tender you can't qualify for, a partner you can't find. We map the actual route from where you are to where you need to be.
You've been told "you can't do that in Libya" or "that market is closed." We can tell you whether that's actually true, and what the real route looks like.
This work is a natural extension of the shipping practice, not a separate business. Our clients often start with a shipment and end up asking for a warmer introduction — sometimes they come to us for the introduction first.
Our main route is from the United States to Libya, by sea. We have also worked on air cargo routes between Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa. We work on other routes when our clients need them. Please contact us if you need a different route.

We work with shipping companies and customs agents in the USA and at the destination. We choose the best shipping method for your needs: fastest, lowest cost, or special handling.
You speak with one person from start to finish. We document every step. We confirm each step with you before we move to the next one.
Send us the details: what you want to buy, your budget, and when you need it.
Before you pay, we can inspect the equipment. We send you a report with photos. You decide if you want to go ahead.
We prepare every document. Title, bill of lading, certificates, and customs forms. In the USA and at the destination.
We choose the best shipping method: sea, air, or land. We send you updates while the shipment is moving.
We clear customs at the destination. We arrange final delivery. We complete all handover documents.
Four people. The company is led from the United States. Day-to-day operations run from our Tripoli office in Libya.
Send us a message with what you need, where it should come from, where it should go, and when you need it. If we can help, we will send you a plan and a price. If we cannot help, we will tell you.
